A short domestic flight from Istanbul to Gaziantep, the most colorful city of Mezopotamia. Transfer to the city and introduction to the very famous cusine with our first lunch at Cagdas Imam Restaurant . Following lunch we visit the Gaziantep Zeugma Museum, second biggest mozaic museum of the world. Check in to our hotel followed for some personal time to relax. Dinner will be out at one of the cities various elite kebap restaurants.
Following breakfast we start our tour by departing to Gobeklitepe, which have gained all attentions after its discovery. This site, announced as the worlds oldest built temple takes us 12,000 years back in time. Lunch to be served at Harran, where we will spot the ruins of the oldest university of human history. This settlement is also attractive with its beecove shapped houses. After the visits, traditional tea offered by the local hosts. We will end the day with our drive to Urfa, the city of the Prophets. Dinnet ar hotel.
After breakfast, we start the day on foot, visiting the holly fish lake; Balikli gol ( Halil ul Rahman lake ), where the Prophet Abraham related legends took place. The Great Tomb and the Grand Mosque visits to follow. Then we depart for Kahta / Nemrud Mountain. Lunch en route .Catch up with sun set at the peak of the Nemrud mountain and hear the history of the vanished Komagene Kingdom in front of their amazing God and Godess statues created miracleously on this hight. Dinner at hotel.
Departure for Gaziantep still awaiting with its delicatesies. After our lunch stop we head to the Old city to discover the historical path where all the old time crafts and bargains are still very visible. Zincirli Han with its crafts, The historical Spice Bazaar, Coppersmiths district, coffee houses street will be among the attractions. Do not forget to buy your Baklawa. Flight back to Istanbul.
